Enrolled in the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois in the fall of 1984. Six years later I completed my degrees in both law and medicine. My goal always was to have a practice in general surgery, but the study of law was a strong interest. My legal education has given me an understanding of the legal process, legislation, and just how lawyers view medico-legal issues.
